Through this quick and very fast-paced class I learned so many fun and exciting things that I can not wait to use in my classroom. I learned how to create a blog and web page, these two things will keep me busy in the next few coming months. I do believe that once I get the website like I want it, they the addition of information will be east and not very time consuming. I also learned how to use Office 2007, which I had never used before. Most of the same functions as Office 2003 are there, but are located in different places. The most intriguing thing that I will take from the class is my preferences when I first get out of bed in the morning (MBTI). I now know why I am like I am sometimes. The Excel program was fun, in that I kind of already knew how to use it, but the commands were in a different place in 2007. I really enjoyed making the brochures in Publisher; they will be a fun way to get the communication with parents started at the beginning of the school year.
In short, I feel like I am more knowledgeable of the office programs and will be able to quickly create anything needed from my classroom. I also feel like I will be able to keep the parents better informed with current events and the things that are going on in the classroom, by them being able to access my webpage.
Thank you to Mr. David Luneau, Mr. Thomas Wallace, and Ms. Catherine Lowry for their patience, understanding, and sharing their knowledge with me.
This short week was full of information. I made a banner for my web page, and I made a brochure using Publisher 2007 that I can use in my classroom.
I really love the moving of seats each week, because this gives us the opportunity to work with each other and learn more about likes and differences of each other.
With the second week gone I have learned so much.
The week started off for me with a funeral.
Then off to the races with brain overload.
- learned new things about my personality.
- the differences between html and css.
- how to create forms to use with excel
- how to choose a color for my webpage
- how to choose a layout for my webpage
- how to present a better powerpoint presentation
- how to read html
- how to make print screens shots
- started creating webpage in Dreamweaver
There were many other things I learned, and am very thankful that the professors have been patient with me.
The most recent inservice that I attended was Ella. This inservice is divided up into 13, 6 hour days. Each of the days include a different aspect of Literacy.
In the most recent inservice I attended I learned how to use assessments to guide my instruction, as well as different ways to meet the needs of each of my students no matter their learning ability or style. I was able to use some of the ideas as soon as I returned to the classroom.
The positive part of Ella for me is that it is a refresher in parts, and then other parts are new.
My name is Shanel Renae Ditmore, I am married to a man named Mike Ditmore and a mother of 2 wonderful children. The oldest a boy named Michael Ditmore Jr is 21 and a girl named Michela Ditmore and she is 9 years old. My mother is still living and I have 5 brothers and no sisters.
I grew up in a little town called Scotland, got married when I was 18 and moved to Little Rock and then 10 years later I moved to Mayflower on Lake Conway.
I started subbing when my oldest child was in kindergarten, then I went to work at a daycare in Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Then when we moved to Mayflower, I started working at a daycare in Conway, then thought I would try a different job and went to work at Acxiom as a tape mounter. I felt like something was missing, so I decided to go to college to become a teacher. So I started my college career at Morrilton at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton which I earned a scholarship to go the University of Central Arkansas. The year I graduated from UCA, my son graduated from high school and my daughter graduated from pre-school. I was the first child on my dad’s side of the family to graduate from college.
I really enjoy music of all kinds, cook outs in the summer, teaching kindergarten, sewing when I get the chance, as well as crocheting, and anything that makes me more organized.
