In response to the recently posed question:
“What’s One thing you do to keep yourself organized?”
Forgive me for using Catherine’s example, but I really do leave my keys on a nail! The times when I left them elsewhere I was frantic until I found them. I have a few other things I do, but I won’t bore you with those details.
Sometimes it’s better to be brief!

As requested I recently took a time management survey. The results were good, it seems that I am very effective at managing my time. That doesn’t surprise me however, I’ve had lots of practice at prioritizing. When you work full time, go to school full time, and raise two kids full time you’d better have a Phd level approach to time management! Anything less means catastrophic failure, and that’s just not an option. The way I make it happen is by cutting out anything personal. That means I do not have hobbies, I don’t take vacations, and I’m not involved in any extracarricular activities. Every waking hour is spent performing or at least thinking about some work, school, or kid related issue. No, that is not what you would call balanced, but balance can come after the education part is completed. I consider it a personal sacrifice for a delayed benefit. It’s not a whole lotta fun right now, but then again neither is failure…

My motivation....
Howdy campers, I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the cool burst of fall weather that is coming soon to visit us. Personally, I can’t wait. Since Fall is my favorite time of year it’s almost like waking up, and stretching out after a long summer slumber. Invariably at this time of year I wax poetic and sentimental as I watch the crisp Autumn wind breathing through the amber, and copper colored trees. And I ponder. Not so much about what has happened in the last year, but of what is to come. This year I see in my figurative crystal ball a bright future. Specifically a bright future for the students of IT Blanco. As I listened recently to the presentations given by the class about themselves I noticed a couple of things… First I noticed that each member has a desire for life-long learning. A fundamental trait for success in IT!! And also that each person seemed to exude a willingness, if not a strong desire to be here and be a part of this team. I see success brewing here, and I am ready for a hot mug of it!!!
I’ll get the fireplace going, and you grab the blankets…..

Every day a new star is born....
Well, It looks like we made it through the weekend relatively unscathed. Not sure yet about my buddy and his wife vacationing in Florida.( He hasn’t checked in in a while.) The last pic they sent was from the beach, so anything is possible at this point! The rest of us, however are looking forward to this week. My daughter Gia’s birthday is Thursday, and my son Adam’s Birthday is next Wednsday. It’s a power week for us every year! They will get the traditional birthday cake for breakfast, and a dinner out of their choosing. A very big deal for kids! We will be very busy this week so if we don’t answer your call onthe first ring don’t worrry, we’ll get to ya!!!
See you on the flipside,
Jeff

Here we are after a break for Labor Day. Charging ahead and learning new concepts.
“Wow! Look Ma’ I’m Bloggin!”
What a first couple of days so far! Learning how to use technology at the speed of… Light! A week ago I had never even seen a blog, and now I own one! This is the most fun I’ve had in class in a long time.
